Working at JMP

At JMP you can expect to work on a diverse range of projects in the UK and internationally, spanning a variety of sectors in an engaged design studio environment.  Although we work on some large-scale projects, you’ll find that ours is not a faceless big-practice environment.

You’ll work with sector specialists in an environment where career development is taken seriously from induction onwards. We support our people with ongoing training and CPD, and offer the opportunity to get involved in working groups which cover areas including Sustainability in the Built Environment, Equality, Diversity and Equality in Practice and Wellbeing.

Training + Development

We offer a dynamic and supportive environment in which to develop a career in the built environment. We take our commitment to furthering architectural education seriously, and support Part 1, 2 and 3 staff with mentoring programmes, study leave and the cost of exam fees.

Each year we employ students from London School of Architecture and host the School's annual end of year work-in-progress show.  We have also collaborated with the LSA on a series of research and development think-tanks relating to homelessness.

Career progression with us is demonstrated by the fact that one of our directors started their career at JMP as a Part 1.  For non-architects, we supports members of the marketing team to attend CIM courses, and encourages members of the accounts team to pursue further CIMA qualifications.

We also work with a local training organisation to give placements to apprentices, many of whom have taken their first steps into employment with us.

Benefits

We recognise the value of benefits and offer all staff a generous package. We also acknowledge that our staff are looking for increasingly flexible working arrangements and are highly responsive to individual needs, accommodating childcare, staff sabbaticals and career breaks, teaching roles and training courses.

We endeavour to continually adapt our benefits packages to address the increasingly high costs of living in London. With benchmarking studies showing that salaries across the industry are not necessarily keeping pace, we have introduced innovations including a rental deposit scheme to help staff with the cost of moving and a shopping perks scheme that cuts the cost of groceries and other day-to-day essentials.

We are pleased to offer our staff the following benefits:

  • Flexible and agile working, supporting a positive work/life balance
  • Comprehensive private medical insurance with BUPA
  • Healthcare cashback plan for a wide range of expenses, including dental and optical
  • Employee assistance programmes available 24/7
  • Full international travel insurance
  • Group life assurance + income protection schemes
  • Professional subscriptions + memberships
  • Rental deposit scheme
  • Long service awards, including enhanced holiday, maternity and paternity pay
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Shopping savings scheme
