Carol Manor: Fairy Tales still almsot blue
This year-long Writing Photography series investigates different approaches, both creative and academic, to writing about photography.

In the third talk in our Writing Photography series Mavor focuses on the colour blue in selected photographs, to tell a fairy tale called She writes with the blue blood of a swan. Richly illustrated with sun-prints, blueprints, photocopies and Polaroids, Mavor considers the magical qualities of the cyanotype.
Carol Mavor is Professor of Art History and Visual Studies at the University of Manchester.
