Over the past 10 years digital technologies have affected the role of photography in architecture and related industries in more ways than one. With nearly 20 years of experience as a professional architecture photographer, Edmund Sumner understands how photography plays into the dynamics of the architecture industry. Talking about his recent projects - including Casa Wabi in Mexico for Tadao Ando, Essex University for Patel Taylor, and a special project commissioned by Domus and Architectural Review - Edmund will discuss the changing nature of the discipline.
Edmund will talk about incorporating professional photography into your practice to effectively communicate your work, choosing the right photographer and commissioning work, what to expect when working with a photographer, how to manage copyright, and what are the opportunities and limitations of digital technology and how best to utilise modern social media channels for maximising exposure.
