The conservation and restoration of the Iron Market, Port-au-Prince by John McAslan + Partners, Alan Baxter Associates, Axis Design Group and Digicel won the 'Sustainability' award at the Institute of Structural Engineer Awards 2012.
It also recieved a 'Commendation' in the Structural Heritage Award category with judges saying; "This was real hands-on engineering in extremely difficult conditions. Methods for the restoration of the building had to be found that took account of the very limited technical skills available."
