John McAslan + Partners Announces The Appointment of Two New Directors

John McAslan + Partners is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Directors - James Dixon and Andy Harris, effective as of today.

John McAslan
, Chairman of John McAslan + Partners, comments: "These two appointments, unanimously agreed by the Board, recognise two highly talented individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the practice's diverse portfolio. Over the years James and Andy have won the respect and trust of our most valued clients and consultants and this announcement is our recognition of their maturing skills and leadership."

James Dixon joined John McAslan + Partners in 2006, and his design development and project-leading roles at JMP have included an award-winning Academy for 1100 pupils in Birmingham for the Royal Society of Arts, the re-working of Denys Lasdun's Grade ll* SOAS Library in London, and the redevelopment of the Grade ll* Friends House in London. This latter scheme created a dramatic new auditorium which was awarded an RIBA Award in 2015. James also led the practice's masterplan for Goldsmiths University, which included  the conversion of a church into exhibition and art studio space. James now contributes to the majority of the practice's commercial and residential work, with projects including Lillie Square - 800 homes as part of the Earls Court re-development - the Stanislavsky Factory in Moscow, an RIBA 2014 award-winning mixed use development, Duke's Court - a significant commercial scheme in Jermyn Street for the Crown Estate - and Holland Park Villas, a high end residential scheme overlooking Holland Park in London. James was promoted to Associate Director in May 2011. He also leads the practice's sustainability working group and steered the practice towards attaining ISO 14001.

Andy Harris joined JMP in 2010 and leads the practice's Landscape and Urban Design Studio. He has over 19 years experience designing and delivering masterplanning, urban design and public realm schemes in both the UK and internationally. He has worked at a variety of scales and within a diverse range of sectors  that include residential, cultural, commercial, education, and Conservation.  He has significant experience in leading complex streetscape, urban design and regeneration projects, and was one of the lead landscape architects responsible for the masterplanning, design and delivery of the award winning London 2012 Olympic Park.  Andy's recent and ongoing work for the practice includes Urban Integration Studies for Crossrail in the vicinity of Bond Street Station; the Belfast Hub Masterplan and Urban Design Strategy for Translink; and the latest refresh of Lancaster University's 10 year Masterplan Strategy.  Recently completed smaller scale projects include the refurbishment of Camberwell Green for the London Borough of Southwark and the re-design of the Friends House Garden on the Euston Road.  Andy also plays a key role in the day to day running of the practice and currently chairs the Senior Management Team at John McAslan + Partners.
