The Art and Design Centre at South Trafford College is the first built phase of the practice's masterplan for the College campus. Teaching spaces and creative studios, plus an exhibition area, media labs and a ceramic workshop are linked by a convivial internal 'street'. Effective use of daylight and natural ventilation are key features of both the studios and the circulation spaces. External shading mitigates solar gain, but allows daylight to reach interior rooms and spaces.
