Fenchurch Street

This office and retail scheme for Frogmore Developments replaced two undistinguished Edwardian buildings with a 12-storey development. The 15m x 27m office footprint provides clear span space served by a linear expressed core element. Responding to the dynamic flow of people across the site, the scheme incorporates at its base a carefully detailed 'pocket park', a transition space that is distinct from the pavements around it. The design sought a stripped down clarity of elevations and detailing in steel and glass, and took its insipration from the finest Modernist offices built in cities such as New York and Chicago.
