Gingerbread House

The distinctive rooflines, decorative joinery and vibrant colours of Haiti's historic Gingerbread Houses embody the spirit of post-colonial Haitian architecture. The practice was instrumental in registering these houses with the World Monuments Fund Watch List and is collaborating with the Fondation Connaissance et Liberté (FOKAL) in Haiti to develop a local apprenticeship programme to repair one of these houses, Maison Gauthier.
