John McAslan + Partners' design of the British School, Rio de Janeiro, was awarded a commendation at this year's Civic Trust Awards.

The project was recongnised at the event, held at Manchester's Old Trafford, as making 'a significant contribution to the quality and appearance of the built environment…demonstrating a good standard of architecture, whilst being sustainable, accessible and providing a positive civic contribution.'
