John McAslan + Partners' recently completed refurbishment and adaptive reuse of St Albans Town Hall has won the Retrofit for the Future Award and Highly Commended Project of the Year award at the 2018 Hertfordshire Building Futures Awards.

The revitalisation of the historic and nationally important Grade II* listed museum was commissioned by the St Albans City and District Council, the St Albans Museums and Galleries Trust and the University of Hertfordshire, and will significantly rejuvenate the cultural life of the town and outlying area.
