Wellington House
London, UK. 2012
The flat-iron plan of this distinctive sandstone faced 10-storey residential scheme for Land Securities angles back from a tightly radiused ‘prow’ at the junction of Buckingham Gate and Petty France in London’s Westminster. The building delivered 60 high-value apartments, with retail at ground level. The wedge-shaped plan affords each building facade equal importance, with John McAslan + Partners collaborating with the artist Georgia Russell on Jaipur sandstone facades in the form of a continuous, vividly incised artwork inspired by the particulars of the context.

'John McAslan + Partners has designed a landmark project for Land Securities, which responds well to its prestigious Westminster location. Notable is the innovative treatment of the stone façade, the result of a fruitful collaboration with the artist Georgia Russell. The distinctive, incised patterning makes a unique statement.'
Colette O’Shea, Development Director, Land Securities
