
Miguel Machado
Miguel leads the global digital design strategy across John McAslan + Partners, joining the practice in 2019. With over 15 years of experience in architecture, BIM and digital design, Miguel plays a key role in integrating emerging technologies, streamlining project workflows, and enhancing collaboration across teams. His expertise ensures that complex projects are delivered efficiently.
Originally from South Africa, Miguel emigrated to New Zealand where he trained as an architect gaining his masters qualification from The University of Auckland. In 2012, Miguel moved to the UK and worked for reputable UK practices Grimshaw Architects and Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios. During this time Miguel also successfully completed his post-graduate diploma in practice management at UCL, The Bartlett.
Miguel is passionate about knowledge-sharing, and fosters a culture of digital innovation within the practice. His leadership enables the alignment of digital tools with architectural design; Miguel strengthens the practice’s ability to navigate the ever-changing technology landscape to achieve high-quality design solutions.
